Project Overview
Privacy Doctor is a mobile application designed to help users understand and improve their digital privacy. The app assigns a privacy score from 0 to 850, similar to a credit score, based on how mobile applications collect, use, and share personal data. One Craft partnered with the Privacy Doctor team to redesign the iOS app UI, establish a clear visual design system, and create a guiding mascot that simplifies complex privacy concepts. Despite having a strong technical foundation, the existing Privacy Doctor app interface struggled to clearly communicate privacy insights. Users found it difficult to interpret their privacy score, understand contributing factors, and identify actionable steps to improve their digital safety. The product required a redesigned mobile app interface that could present complex privacy data in a simple, structured, and trustworthy way, while maintaining clarity across dashboards, reports, and educational content.

UX Audit & Use Case Review:
We reviewed the existing app to assess user flows, identify gaps across core and edge cases, and evaluate the clarity of privacy data before moving into visual design.
Visual Moodboarding and Design Direction:
We defined the visual direction through moodboarding, exploring colour palettes, typography, layouts, and data visualisation styles suited for a privacy focused mobile app.
iOS App UI and Mascot Design:
We designed high fidelity iOS screens focused on clear hierarchy and readability, supported by Bagheera, a guiding mascot that helps users understand privacy insights.
